Dawn of a New DayPosted by Tracy on October 8th, 2010
Here is one of my earlier Dimensions cross stitch kit. I chose to do this one because of the soft look and colourful assortment of cotton thread. Dawn of a New Day was designed by Todd Trainer and stitched on 14 count Antique White Aida, finished size is 10″ x 14″.
I completed Dawn of a New Day in 2005. This cross stitch was a challenge for me at the time, there was about 45 french knots to do, and at that point none of the cross stitches I had done had any french knots. Before I even attempted to do French Knots of this piece of work I got a spare piece of Aida and practiced a few French Knots on there first. It took quiet a lot attempts and a few mugs of coffee before I got the hang of it. Now I find French knots easy but I still practice 1 or 2 before I attempt them on a cross stitch I’m working on. I think it took about 6 months to do this cross stitch but it was a while ago I done this one now.
