Charity Blanket is FinishedPosted by Tracy on April 29th, 2012
It’s taken a while in the making but here it is, the finished Charity blanket that myself and my cross stitch group made.
I really love the way all our little cross stitch projects have come together in this wonderful blanket, it was a pleasure to be a part of and I would like to do something like this again one day.
The big cross stitch in the middle is truly amazing, unfortunately I can’t take any credit for that one as it was stitched by the lady who organised everything for the stitching of this blanket. Think I might try and get the pattern though as I really like it.
My favourite one is the grey and white cat, second row in from the left and third one up from the bottom. Which is your favourite?

After a few weeks of resting, I’m now back doing cross stitch. I have been suffering a little with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome again but I wont let it stop me doing what I love, it just takes me a little longer now.
Here is the finished card but I do have to say that I didn’t make the card, my wonderful partner made the card while I was at work and I must say that it looks amazing, I know who I will be asking to make cards out of my little cross stitches now.
Someone I work with had this DMC classics cross stitch kit up in their loft for over 2 years and found it while doing a bit of a clear out. Not being a cross stitcher themselves but really liking the picture I was asked if I would stitch this for them, I couldn’t resist. It’s not something I would have brought myself being more of a cat person but I did enjoy stitching this one.
Thought I would try something a little more challenging and am very pleased with the results.
For Christmas my wonderful partner got me a sewing machine, I’ve never used one before – well only at school but that was a long time ago now – so I was really excited to try it out.
As the sewing machine was out and I was having fun learning, even just the basics, I made another pin cushion. Well it should have been a scissor fob thingy but I forgot to attach the ribbon so now it’s a small pin cushion.
Here is the second design that I stitched from the free booklet that came with issue 186 of The World of Cross Stitching.
This cross stitch chart was in a booklet that came free with The World of Cross Stitching magazine, issue 186. There were twelve designs but I only chose two of them, this being one. These were designed by Adam Pescott, my favorite character that he has created is Bently Bear. I also like Lickle Ted but as yet I haven’t got round to stitching any of those.
Awwww this little bear looks like he’s having fun at a party.
This is the last of the Christmas cross stitches to put on here, until the next time. I have really enjoyed stitching all these wonderful pictures and I know they have been really appreciated by the members of family who received these cards.
